NBA<\/a> star Jrue Holiday has stunned fans with his pledge to donate the entirety of his salary for the 2020 season to black-owned small businesses and nonprofits. <\/p>\n

Holiday, who was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks this summer<\/a>, revealed his pledge in an Instagram post<\/a> where he said he wanted to help businesses who had been ravaged by COVID-19 this year.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old point guard was scheduled to earn $25,396,111 this season, per Spotrac, and is currently in the penultimate year of a five-year, $131 million contract originally signed back in 2017 <\/p>\n

"With the COVID-19 Pandemic and heightened racial injustices in 2020, many of us have been looking for answers. Lauren & I found ourselves searching for ways to help our community at a time when they needed it most," he wrote. <\/p>\n

"Pledging the remainder of our 2020 NBA salary to small black owned businesses, nonprofits and initiatives is how we felt we could make a lasting impact."<\/p>\n

"According to @google, in 2020, worldwide searches for 'support small business' doubled compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n

"It's encouraging to know that in a time when we could all use a helping hand, we are still searching for ways to help one another. Know that you are not alone in your search for answers."<\/p>\n

Holiday and the Bucks will open their 2020-21 season with a match-up against the Boston Celtics at 11:30 am AEDT on the 24th of December.<\/p>\n
