Broncos coach Kevin Walters is adamant his side wasn't "dudded" despite a controversial penalty<\/a> that resulted in the Roosters claiming a 21-20 victory<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite Brisbane going ahead 20-19 when Selwyn Cobbo kicked a 77th-minute penalty goal, a penalty to the Roosters just moments later ultimately decided tonight's match as Adam Keighran slotted a shot from close to the sideline to give his side the lead.<\/p>\n

The penalty was on the back of a successful captain's challenge, in which Broncos forward Tom Flegler was deemed to have collected Sitili Tupouniua across the face with a high shot.<\/p>\n

Former Bulldogs and Roosters superstar Sonny Bill Williams felt the penalty lacked "common sense" and "shouldn't have been a head-high".<\/p>\n

After the match, Walters said he hadn't "had time to digest it yet", but hinted it was a head-scratcher, saying: "If that decides a grand final \u2026"<\/p>\n

But he said he had no issue with the call, conceding it was all part of the game.<\/p>\n

"That's the way the game goes sometimes and that's what I said to the guys \u2014 footy can be cruel, but it can also be a great game sometimes.<\/p>\n

"If you're sitting in the Roosters sheds, you love the game. If you're sitting in ours at the moment, it's not so good.<\/p>\n

"I don't think we were dudded, no. Referees are there to adjudicate and they adjudicated."<\/p>\n
