Jamaica: Fawad Alam and Faheem Ashraf took Pakistan out of the trouble after they were teetering at 101\/5 on Day of the first Test at Sabina Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 35-year-old Fawad scored 56 while Faheem made 46. The pair added 85 for the sixth wicket. The visitors came strongly with the ball courtesy Mohammad Abbas’s effort as he bagged two wickets off two balls. West Indies will start the day on 2\/2 with 215 runs still remaining.<\/p>\n

Fawad and Faheem previewed day one of the Test match and aimed to control West Indies with the ball.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“The first day of a Test is always very important. We will try to put more pressure on West Indies on the second day. More wickets could fall if they capitulate under pressure,” said Fawad Alam.<\/p>\n

“We will try to bowl them out as early as possible and I entered the field with a positive frame of mind so I could stay on the crease for a long time and I knew if I stay on the crease then I will get scoring opportunities. I had the belief that one good partnership will give us an advantage,” he added.<\/p>\n

“It is not easy to bat on this pitch for a long period of time. I was just thinking to bring the team out of the difficult situation and on these kind of surfaces, a batsman has to play with a lot more focus,” said Faheem Ashraf<\/p>\n

“I and (Fawad) were aiming to build a partnership. I have batted now and look to contribute as a bowler. Our bowling is good.” he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
