The All Blacks<\/a> may have taken out yet another Bledisloe Cup<\/a> clash at Eden Park, but they were denied what could've been one of the country's greatest ever tries in the process.<\/p>\n

With New Zealand holding a 16-8 lead over the Wallabies in the early stages of the second half, Ian Foster's side sprung a sensational counter-attack, catching the Australians off-guard.<\/p>\n

After a line-out 10 metres from their own try line, the All Blacks swept the ball from the right side of the field to the left with stars Richie Mo'unga<\/a>, Aaron Smith<\/a> and Brodie Retallick all involved.<\/p>\n

After some slick passes through the middle of the ground, the ball eventually found its way to Sevu Reece who completed the coast-to-coast play in the right corner.<\/p>\n

However, the try was chalked off just minutes later after a review from referee Paul Williams concluded that Smith's pass to Retallick in the build-up had gone forward.<\/p>\n

"It is beautiful from the All Blacks, that's as good as it gets," lead commentator Sean Maloney said on Stan Sports' coverage.<\/p>\n

"If it stood, it would've been one of the all-time All Blacks tries."<\/p>\n

"You can't afford to give them this space. Right from deep in their territory, all the way, the support play extraordinary," All Blacks great Andrew Mehrtens added.<\/p>\n

"You wonder if spinning disorientated Aaron Smith a little. Brodie Retallick getting in front of the runner slightly.<\/p>\n

"It's almost the kind of try [scored] the last time the All Blacks were beaten at Eden Park, which was France in '94, the try as they say 'from the ends of the earth'.<\/p>\n

"It's about support play, it's about mindset and it started with Richie Mo'unga and it was glorious to watch, but equally for Australians, glorious to watch that replay and the forward pass."<\/p>\n

Former Wallabies centre Morgan Turinui was also impressed by the play, lauding the "audacity" from the All Blacks to go end-to-end in such devastating fashion.<\/p>\n

The disallowed try did little to stop New Zealand's second half momentum, as tries to Mo'unga (50), David Havili (57) and Damian McKenzie (63) resulted in a 33-23 win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The second Test will also take place at Eden Park in a week's time, with kick-off set for 5.05 pm AEST on Saturday, August 14.<\/p>\n
