Warriors<\/a> forward Kane Evans let his emotions get the better of him in costly fashion, lashing out at Sharks centre Will Chambers with two left hooks that resulted in a stint in the sin bin during New Zealand's 18-16 win over Cronulla.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Late in the first half with scores locked at 6-apiece, Evans, who had only been on the field for a matter of minutes after coming off the interchange, made a costly error with the ball before Chambers appeared to let him know about it.<\/p>\n

Evans was far from impressed with the feedback and exploded, lashing out with two punches aimed at the chin of the Cronulla centre.<\/p>\n

"There's a couple of lefts thrown by Kane Evans, and guess who they were aimed at!" Fox League commentator Matt Russell said.<\/p>\n

\"Kane<\/p>\n

"It took me by surprise and I'm pretty sure it took Matt Cecchin and plenty of players on the field by surprise."<\/p>\n

Former Sharks coach Shane Flanagan added: "He's had one carry with an offload and error, and then the second one he's put his team under enormous pressure."<\/p>\n

The incident immediately resulted in referee Matt Cecchin issuing marching orders for a stint in the bin.<\/p>\n

But as Evans walked off the field, he kept turning his head back and looking to Chambers for what could've been round two.<\/p>\n

Ultimately Chambers had the last laugh with Cronulla crossing over for two tries in the final three minutes against a 12-man Warriors outfit.<\/p>\n

Former NRL star Michael Ennis teed off on Evans, who said the forward's stint in the sin bin let his teammates down as Cronulla notched back-to-back tries.<\/p>\n

"Did he miss the memo? Will Chambers has got exactly the reaction," Ennis said.<\/p>\n

"Kane Evans has had half an hour on the bench watching him (Chambers) rip into young Vailea and Watene-Zelezniak, he's been giving them bait the whole half.<\/p>\n

"He comes on and loses his cool and has cost his side two late tries. Diabolical from Kane Evans. He should've known better."<\/p>\n

While the Warriors ultimately found a way to win, Evans didn't do his side any favours by copping another stint in the bin for a head slam tackle in Chambers during the second half.<\/p>\n

In all, Evans finished the match with two errors, four penalties conceded and two stints in the sin bin.<\/p>\n
