Controversial golfer Bryson DeChambeau<\/a> has been criticised by rivals for not shouting "fore" after wayward tee shots at this week's WGC St. Jude Invitational.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau<\/a> was in sizzling form in the opening round, scoring a 66 in some of the best golf he's played in nearly a year.<\/p>\n

But the 2020 US Open winner<\/a> drew the ire of European golfers Richard Bland and Edoardo Molinari who tweeted their displeasure over the issue.<\/p>\n

As a sign of courtesy, golfers yell out as a warning to spectators who might be struck by the ball and injured.<\/p>\n

"Bryson ploughing it into the crowd again off the tee & no shout of FORE maybe it needs someone to get seriously injured for him to learn," tweeted England's Bland.<\/p>\n

Italy's Molinari echoed his sentiments. "It shouldn't be difficult to understand that you should ALWAYS shout 'fore' when you hit a shot into the crowds… @b_dechambeau When is someone going to do something about this? Hopefully before a spectator gets seriously hurt!" Molinari wrote.<\/p>\n

"I am not saying he is the only one…all I am saying is that EVERYONE should always shout fore and it shouldn't be difficult to understand why…especially from someone that claims he understands physics!<\/p>\n

"It think it is worse than slow play. Slow play never hurt anyone…at least physically!"<\/p>\n

DeChambeau addressed the issue at last month's British Open when asked if he made an effort to warn the crowd after shots fly off unexpectedly.<\/p>\n

"I do shout fore. I don't know what you're talking about," he said. "You're bringing up a very controversial thing, which is unfortunate, but 99 percent of the time I do, and unfortunately people think I don't. But that's OK, they can say whatever they want."<\/p>\n

The world No.6 attracted attention this week when he said he does not regret his decision not to get vaccinated for the coronavirus despite a positive test ruling him out of the Olympics.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau said he regretted missing the Tokyo Games, that he hopes to qualify in 2024 for another opportunity, yet his views on the vaccine remain.<\/p>\n

"The vaccine doesn't necessarily prevent it from happening," DeChambeau on Wednesday at TPC Southwind. "I'm young enough, I'd rather give it [the vaccine] to people who need it. I don't need it. I'm a healthy, young individual that will continue to work on my health.<\/p>\n

"I don't think taking the vaccine away from someone who needs it is a good thing. My dad is a perfect example. He got it [the vaccine] early on because he's a diabetic. People like that need to get it. My mom got it. I don't want to take away that ability."<\/p>\n

According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the US, there are no vaccine shortages in the country.<\/p>\n
