Ben Simmons' relationship with the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> is reportedly "beyond repair at this point" with the Australian ignoring phone calls from teammates and the organisation.<\/p>\n

Simmons' future with the Sixers is uncertain<\/a> as the team listens to trade offers from rivals following his disappointing performance in the 2021 playoffs. Simmons was 12 months ago put up for a trade for the unsuccessful acquisition of James Harden but this time around Philly is struggling to find a suitable deal.<\/p>\n

Simmons' behaviour is reportedly intensifying the situation, with claims he's ignoring phone calls from the team in an effort to expedite a move.<\/p>\n

"Joel Embiid has reached out to him several times since the end of the season, [Simmons] hasn't returned Joel Embiid's calls," NBA reporter Jason Dumas said on San Francisco's 95.7 The Game radio station.<\/p>\n

"He hasn't been in touch with many other of the players.<\/p>\n

"It's kind of a marriage that's beyond repair at this point."<\/p>\n

The tactic is designed to put pressure on the Sixers' front office to make a trade before training camp begins in over a month. It's understood Simmons has an idea of where he wants to go.<\/p>\n

"Like anyone who's going to get traded, especially a young, quote\u2014unquote all-star like Ben, he doesn't want to go to a bad situation," he added.<\/p>\n

"He's reading the tea leaves like everyone else. He sees Toronto [Raptors], he sees Portland [Trail Blazers], and Ben, just to be frank, being the young socialite he is, he's not really trying to go to any of those situations.<\/p>\n

"He's open to the California teams, is what I've been told."<\/p>\n

Simmons is keen on a move to the Golden State Warriors but the Sixers and the Warriors couldn't come to an agreement before the draft.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia's request of Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman as well as picks No.7 and No.14 in the draft for Simmons was deemed too hefty. The Australian's strategy is seen as a strong arm move to get the Sixers to lower their price.<\/p>\n

Following his dreadful end to the season, Simmons pulled out of the Boomers' Olympic campaign to improve his game. Within weeks he was seen at Wimbledon with his new girlfriend while trade scenarios swirled.<\/p>\n

In recent days the 25-year-old has been back in the gym with his trainer Chris Johnson posting a video online of the Aussie practising his jump shot. Some fans expressed their frustration, having grown tired of the same sort of videos being uploaded every offseason.<\/p>\n

One social media user commented on a workout picture: "He really acting like he was about to shoot in that second pic."<\/p>\n

Simmons replied: "Ya lips look like ya got stung by a bee … nutty professor ass."<\/p>\n

The Australian is going into the second season of his five-year, $A240 million NBA contract.<\/p>\n
