Marika Koroibete<\/a>, Isi Naisarani and Pone Fa'amausili won't be eligible for selection for Saturday's Bledisloe Cup<\/a> match against New Zealand after a late-night drinking session.<\/p>\n

A statement from Rugby Australia has confirmed the three players continued to drink "well beyond an agreed time" following a group dinner last Saturday.<\/p>\n

As such, they won't be considered for selection this week.<\/p>\n

"We are building a culture of working hard for each other and being accountable for our actions," said Wallabies coach Dave Rennie.<\/a> <\/p>\n

"On this occasion, these three players haven't lived up to that and we've taken a very clear stance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"Ultimately these three men have paid a big price for their decisions but that's the standard we expect of each other."<\/p>\n

The decision has the backing of Rugby Australia.<\/p>\n

"Rugby Australia supports the action taken by the team, and the internal standards they have set for each other," said chief executive Andy Marinos. <\/p>\n

"As an organisation, we expect the highest standards at all times.\u00a0While we also acknowledge that this is a minor incident, I applaud Dave and the team for taking such an open and transparent approach."<\/p>\n

Rugby Australia confirmed there was no illegal behaviour, no damage, and no complaints made. There will be no further action beyond the one match suspension.<\/p>\n

While Fa'amausili is yet to play a Test, Koribete starred in the recent series against France, while Naisarani would also have been in the squad for the match at Eden Park on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The latest incident will raise further questions about the culture within the sport, after allegations of bad behaviour involving members of the men's sevens team on the flight home from the Tokyo Olympics.<\/p>\n

Rugby Australia has begun an internal investigation<\/a> after the Australian Olympic Committee informed them of "incidents involving the Australian men's sevens program."<\/p>\n
