The Sydney Roosters have discovered their own flying Fijian – and he could be playing in the NRL as soon as next season.<\/p>\n
Vuate Karawalevu, a speedy winger with the Fijian flair for scoring tries, started the season with the Kaiviti Silktails in the Ron Massey Cup but soon joined the Roosters' Jersey Flegg side.<\/p>\n
"He is from rugby union and scored four tries in his first game of league earlier this year," Roosters recruitment boss Daniel Anderson told Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n
"I originally got sent vision of him in 2019 and made him an offer because I could tell he had something special.<\/p>\n
"But he rejected me and joined the ACT Brumbies. Then COVID hit and that was the end of that.<\/p>\n
"So he joined the Silktails and came to us from there and has been a sensation in the lower grades.<\/p>\n
