She completed her second straight <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/olympics\" title=\"Olympic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Olympic<\/a> sprint sweep in 21.53 seconds, the second-fastest time in history.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/olympics\/tokyo-olympics-2021-live-updates-day-10-news-athletics-results-peter-bol-hockeyroos-matildas-sweden-gold-medal-tally\/6cf647d4-1d9b-4211-b9c0-3250f83fccfb\" target=\"\" title=\"OLYMPICS LIVE BLOG: UPDATES, LATEST NEWS\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>OLYMPICS LIVE BLOG: UPDATES, LATEST NEWS<\/strong><\/em><\/a> <em><strong>|<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/olympics\/tokyo-games-event-centre\" target=\"\" title=\"TOKYO GAMES EVENT CENTRE: SCHEDULE, RESULTS, MEDAL TALLY\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>TOKYO GAMES EVENT CENTRE: SCHEDULE, RESULTS, MEDAL TALLY<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It marked the second time in four nights that Thompson-Herah has won a sprint and recorded a time that fell short of only Florence Griffith Joyner&#x27;s hallowed, 33-year-old world records. The 200 record is 21.34.<\/p>\n<p>Four nights ago in the 100 meters, Thompson-Herah started pointing at the clock a few steps before the finish line and finished in 10.61, which was good for the Olympic record but not Flo Jo&#x27;s overall mark of 10.49.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"b0536ced-ce27-4dfb-aff8-79585953195d\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/b0536ced-ce27-4dfb-aff8-79585953195d\" alt=\"Elaine Thompson-Herah has now won the 100m-200m double at Rio and Tokyo.\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the 200, she ran hard all the way through and stuck her tongue out as she pushed her chest forward at the line. No question here about what would&#x27;ve happened if she&#x27;d left it all on the track.<\/p>\n<p>Both finishes, of course, equaled gold medals, and now Thompson-Herah will have at least four when she gets back to Jamaica.
