Dragons coach Anthony Griffin<\/a> has refused to blame the wild lead-up to Sunday's clash with the Rabbitohs<\/a> for his side's 50-14 drubbing at the hands of South Sydney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The fallout of BBQ-gate<\/a> continued as the Dragons, this time missing Jack Bird<\/a>, Josh McGuire<\/a> and Blake Lawrie, went 0-3 following the infamous party.<\/p>\n

Griffin wasn't lulled into using the complications behind Queensland's plunge into a lockdown<\/a> as an excuse for the Rabbitohs thumping and, understandably, pointed out that South Sydney had had a messier lead-in.<\/p>\n

While the Dragons were told moments before leaving their Brisbane quarantine hotel to not head to the airport, the Gold Coast-based Rabbitohs flew to Rockhampton and were then told to return.<\/p>\n

The match was then one of three games played at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium after ARLC chairman Peter V'landys<\/a> struck an agreement with the Queensland government to have the round finished on Sunday and Monday.<\/p>\n

"It was probably more disruptive for them; they actually flew up there whereas we were getting a late flight," Griffin said in his post-match press conference.<\/p>\n

"Organisational-wise and emotionally you build it up for a football game and the young guys had a really good week at training, so they were really disappointed when we didn't go (to Rockhampton on Saturday).<\/p>\n

"But, to be fair, it's probably more disruptive to them; they flew up and flew back and had to drive to the airport and things like that."<\/p>\n

Fullback Tyrell Sloan, winger Talatau Amone and five-eighth Jayden Sullivan are among the several young Dragons players getting a run in the NRL this season.<\/p>\n

Griffin said the youngsters managed the re-jigged fixture well.<\/p>\n

"They handled it really good," Griffin said.<\/p>\n

"We knew we weren't playing by lunch time yesterday so we gave them the afternoon off and then this morning we went through a build-up process again."<\/p>\n

Rabbitohs superstars Latrell Mitchell<\/a> and Cody Walker<\/a> were the chief destroyers of the Dragons.<\/p>\n

Mitchell posted two tries, three line-breaks, 15 tackle busts and 164 metres, as Walker set up two tries and collected a four-pointer of his own.<\/p>\n

South Sydney props Mark Nicholls and George Burgess<\/a> were also instrumental, with Nicholls tallying 205 metres and 22 tackles and his front-rower buddy registering 204 metres and 22 tackles.<\/p>\n
