A wild 24 hours in rugby league<\/a>, the same old Storm.<\/p>\n

Melbourne were again unstoppable in Sunday's grand final rematch against Penrith<\/a>, inflicting a 37-10 drubbing in Brisbane in another record-breaking performance.<\/p>\n

The Storm's 16th consecutive triumph has given them the longest winning streak in club history and seen Melbourne improve their points differential to the greatest of all time.<\/p>\n

Craig Bellamy<\/a>'s men surpassed the points differentials of the 1995 Manly outfit (plus-439) and 1935 Eastern Suburbs side (plus-442) as they improved to plus-465.<\/p>\n

The ladder-leading Storm are now one win clear of the second-placed Panthers on the ladder as they strive to win consecutive premierships for the first time in the club's history.<\/p>\n

"I think the thing about the Panthers and the Rabbitohs, if they want to beat (the Storm) in the premiership, is they've got to start planning now," said legendary coach Phil Gould<\/a> on Nine's coverage of the Storm-Panthers clash.<\/p>\n

"They've got to start going through video and looking for little things and looking for advantages. They've got to start practicing this now because Melbourne Storm's game is perfected.<\/p>\n

"Unfortunately, what we've got is Rabbitohs and Panthers beating a lot of sides by 30 and 40 every week playing a style that's not going to beat the Melbourne Storm.<\/p>\n

"So they need, for the next couple of months, to concentrate on the style of football that's going to trouble the Storm. You're not just going to turn up and say suddenly, 'We're playing the Storm today, we'll play this way'. You've got to practice that week in, week out because, as the Storm have shown today, they've got a game that suits everyone. That's the professionalism of their coach and their players."<\/p>\n

Gould said that "wouldn't be lost" on Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett<\/a> and Panthers mentor Ivan Cleary<\/a> as they zeroed in on the finals.<\/p>\n

The only man who's coached more games in the league than Cleary (361), without winning a premiership, is former Dragons, Eels, Knights and Roosters mentor Brian Smith (580).<\/p>\n

"(The Panthers and Rabbitohs need to be practicing now what beats the Melbourne Storm regardless of the opposition they play," Gould said.<\/p>\n

"That's the only way they are going to beat them."<\/p>\n

Cleary was frustrated in his post-match press conference.<\/p>\n

"It's not good enough," he said.<\/p>\n

But it must be noted that Penrith were missing key cogs Nathan Cleary<\/a>, Isaah Yeo, James Fisher-Harris, Apisai Koroisau<\/a> and Brian To'o.<\/p>\n

Star Melbourne hooker Harry Grant<\/a> returned for his first match since Round 15, scoring a try, laying 35 tackles and making a series of damaging runs after shrugging off a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

The thumping win also saw teen Storm winger Dean leremia bag the first hat-trick of his NRL career.<\/p>\n
