{"id":10976,"date":"2020-12-18T09:20:19","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T10:20:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=10976"},"modified":"2020-12-18T11:06:42","modified_gmt":"2020-12-18T11:06:42","slug":"asad-shafiq-fined-for-uttering-offensive-remark-during-qea-trophys-fixture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=10976","title":{"rendered":"Asad Shafiq fined for uttering offensive remark during QeA Trophy\u2019s fixture"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin: 5px 5% 10px 5%\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/arysports.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Asad-Shafiq.jpg\" width=\"742\" height=\"486\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Karachi: Sindh&#8217;s captain Asad Shafiq has been fined 20 percent of his match-fee for violating Article 2.3 of the PCB Code of Conduct which reads as &#8216;Use of audible obscenity&#8217; during his side\u2019s drawn match against Northern in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at the National Stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 34-year-old uttered an offensive remark in frustration after the completion of the 52nd over of Northern\u2019s second innings.<\/p>\n<p>The first offences in Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official warning and\/or imposition of a fine of up to 70 per cent of the applicable match fee.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Sindh&#8217;s wicket-keeper Shehzar Mohammad has been fined 75 per cent of his match-fee for breaching Article 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct, which reads as: \u201cShowing dissent at an Umpire\u2019s decision during a Match\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened in the 74th over of Northern\u2019s second innings on the fourth and final day of the match on Thursday, when Shehzar, after a caught behind appeal being turned down, expressed disappointment at the decision.<\/p>\n<p>This was his second offence of the Article in as many matches. All second offences in Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of 70 per cent fine up to two-match suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Both Shehzar and Asad, after the day\u2019s play, pleaded guilty to the charge and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed.
