Apisai Koroisau's State of Origin camp dalliance<\/a> "damages everybody" and the NSWRL could be on the verge of taking action of its own, boss Dave Trodden says.<\/p>\n

The NRL hit Koroisau with a two-match ban and a $35,000 fine<\/a> for joining a woman in her hotel room during the Blues' Origin II camp, in an act that blatantly defied COVID-19 protocols.<\/p>\n

Trodden says whether the NSWRL disciplines Koroisau itself will be decided in "the coming days".<\/p>\n

"I think we will review from our point of view, and one of the things I will be doing over the coming days is to prepare a report to our board," Trodden told reporter Danny Weidler on Nine News.<\/p>\n

"Our board may well consider whether there's a case for taking some additional action on the basis of breaching our internal protocols."<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Koroisau met with a woman in her hotel room despite the fact he has a wife. Amy has since flown to Queensland to join Koroisau in the Panthers' bio-secure Sunshine Coast hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"Most of all he's probably let himself down and his family down – and I think that's the overwhelming sentiment," Trodden said.<\/p>\n

"I think we all feel pretty let down. He was in a fairly privileged position, a position of trust, (but) he didn't live up to the trust that was put in him."<\/p>\n

Koroisau, a 2014 Rabbitohs premiership-winner and 2020 Panthers grand finalist, has been in a two-man race with South Sydney's Damien Cook for NSW's No.9 jumper for some time – and he harbours hope of one day becoming the Blues' chief hooker.<\/p>\n

But Trodden had dire words for Koroisau when asked by Weidler if the 28-year-old could be trusted in future Blues camps.<\/p>\n

"It is an issue," Trodden said.<\/p>\n

"Being picked in a representative team is a real privilege and you have to earn that privilege … One of the things you have to do to earn the privilege is prove you can be trusted to uphold all of the values of the group that you become a part of. So having breached that trust, there's a lot of work that someone (Koroisau) has to do to regain the trust.<\/p>\n

"It damages everybody and that's the regrettable part of it."<\/p>\n

Koroisau is expected to return for the Panthers' match against the Roosters in Brisbane in Round 21, after missing clashes with the Broncos and Storm.<\/p>\n
