Paul Gallen slammed fellow NRL great Sonny Bill Williams after beating Mark Hunt, branding him "yesterday's hero" and pouring doubt on whether they'd ever fight.<\/p>\n

Gallen, 10-0-1 after a unanimous decision win over Hunt<\/a>, has chased SBW for years. It would be a blockbuster version of the 'footy fight' that has so often captured Australia's imagination.<\/p>\n

Williams assured Gallen in August that he "100 per cent" intended to fight him<\/a>, saying: "I'm actually excited to get in the ring with you and it's going to happen."<\/p>\n

Yet the lead has gone cold since then and Gallen is fed up. He unloaded on the megastar on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

"Sonny Bill is yesterday's hero," Gallen told reporters, per The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"Where is he? Where is he? I've said I'll fight him for how many years now. You'll have to go and ask him.<\/p>\n

"Why doesn't [somebody] ask Sonny Bill if he wants to fight me? I'm always the one answering the question.<\/p>\n

"Go and ask Sonny. Actually go and ask Khoder [Williams' manager Khoder Nasser]. Khoder speaks for him. Sonny can't talk."<\/p>\n

Williams is 7-0 as a professional boxer but hasn't fought in six years. He has been tipped to fight Barry Hall next year; the AFL great against whom Gallen drew last year.<\/p>\n
