Panthers star Apisai Koroisau<\/a> is the subject of a probe from the NRL for a COVID-19 breach after allegations that he snuck a woman into the NSW Blues' bubble during the recently-concluded State of Origin<\/a> series.<\/p>\n

New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) was unaware of the incident until Thursday, but immediately reported it to the NRL after being notified.<\/p>\n

"As soon as we were made aware of the allegations, we immediately referred them to the NRL," NSWRL boss Dave Trodden told the Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"The NRL are investigating at the moment. We are providing whatever co-operation is required to the NRL so that they can satisfactorily complete their investigations."<\/p>\n

According to 9News Sydney's Danny Weidler, Penrith was also made aware of the impending investigation into Koroisau's actions by the NRL "late" on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Koroisau is alleged to have snuck a woman into the Blues' biosecure bubble on two separate occasions, with the second coming on the day of Game Two on June 27.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old was the 18th man for Brad Fittler's side in the opening two matches of the series before making his State of Origin debut in the 20-18 Origin III loss on the Gold Coast<\/a>, where he scored a try.<\/p>\n

The investigation into Koroisau will be of particular interest to Queensland's State of Origin camp, after Maroons player Jai Arrow was suspended<\/a> for a similar incident.<\/p>\n

Arrow was hit with a two-match ban as well as a $35,000 fine for bringing a woman into Queensland's hotel, the Sheraton Grand Mirage.<\/p>\n

Along with the NRL's sanctions, Queensland Rugby League has also weighed up its own set of sanctions for the Souths star<\/a>, including the prospect of being banned from next year's State of Origin series.<\/p>\n
