Livewire Essendon forward Jake Stringer<\/a> has agreed to a new three-year deal with the Bombers, tying him to the club until the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

The Age is reporting that Stringer's fresh contract will be announced this week and that the deal includes several incentives allowing him to earn more than his base salary.<\/p>\n

The deal is a reward for perhaps Stringer's best season of his 151-game AFL career, in which the former Bulldog has booted 29 goals and is averaging 16 disposals per match.<\/p>\n

Stringer shone in Essendon's 18-point win over North Melbourne<\/a> on the Gold Coast on Sunday, slotting four goals in the last quarter alone and finishing the game with 17 touches.<\/p>\n

"I'm just enjoying my footy at the moment," Stringer told Fox Footy after the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

"I'm enjoying it with these young boys and I'm just glad to keep winning. It makes it a bit easier when you get told you're coming up here (to Queensland) and leaving the kids behind, so I'm just happy to come up here and get the win.<\/p>\n

"It's obviously hard (leaving the family behind in Melbourne). We got told at like 9am and I've obviously got three kids, so didn't really get much of a goodbye.<\/p>\n

"It's hard but it is what it is. We're pretty fortunate to be up here so there's no complaining."<\/p>\n

While Stringer has always faced question marks over his fitness and consistency, there's no denying the 27-year-old has a wealth of x-factor.<\/p>\n

Stringer was a key member of the Bulldogs' 2016 AFL grand final victory over the Swans, which secured the club its first flag in 62 years.<\/p>\n

Stringer also earned an All-Australian blazer in 2015.<\/p>\n

He topped the Bulldogs' goal-kicking leaderboard three times and has done so at the Bombers twice.<\/p>\n
