Titans co-captain Kevin Proctor was involved in an awkward exchange with referee Matt Cecchin during the Gold Coast's 26-8 loss to Parramatta.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Titans started tonight's match with a strong opening five minutes, which saw them nearly cross over twice before things took a turn for the worse. <\/p>\n

A stunning solo try from playmaker Dylan Brown in the ninth minute was the start of a Parramatta onslaught as the Eels poured on five consecutive tries to blow the Titans off the park.<\/p>\n

While Gold coast hit back with two late tries of their own, it was a case of too little, too late as the Eels rode home a comfortable lead, in which four of their five tries came during the first half.<\/p>\n

But during the first half, a moment that left viewers in stitches was when Cecchin let Proctor know just how unimpressed he was following an unsuccessful captain's challenge.<\/p>\n

Proctor had called for a captain's challenge after Tino Fa'asuamaleaui was pinged for an error during the play-the-ball.<\/p>\n

Fa'asuamaleaui at the time was arguing that Eels forward Ryan Matterson, who was lying in the middle of the ruck, caused the error in the play-the-ball.<\/p>\n

However, replays suggested there was no infringement from Matterson as Cecchin called Proctor over to have a few words.<\/p>\n

"Kevin, did you see what we just saw then?" Cecchin asked the Titans co-captain.<\/p>\n

"Come on, be fair dinkum mate."<\/p>\n

Commentator Andrew Voss added: "Wow! Matt Cecchin putting Kevin Proctor back in his place."<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for Proctor, he may also find himself spending some time on the sidelines after he was sent to the sin bin early in the first half for a lifting tackle on Isaiah Papali'i.<\/p>\n

While Proctor made the tackle alongside teammate Patrick Herbert, the referee opted just to send Proctor to the bin.<\/p>\n

"That's dangerous, they will get a couple of weeks for that," Balmain Tigers great Steve Roach said in commentary for Fox Fox League.<\/p>\n

Voss added: "They have elected to pinpoint just one of the two, and it is Kevin Proctor who has been sent."<\/p>\n

"Proctor has done the first of the lifting and it's ended in a dangerous position."<\/p>\n
