The leader of Nine's NRL tipping competition, Paul Gallen, is backing the Dragons to beat the odds and spring an upset against Manly tonight<\/a>, despite fielding a team that will be without five of the 'dirty dozen' who attended Paul Vaughan's barbecue.<\/p>\n

St George Illawarra will be missing sacked star Vaughan<\/a> as well as Zac Lomax and Daniel Alvaro – who are in limbo after refusing to sign an NRL document<\/a> that would have allowed them to return to training – and Matt Dufty, Tyrell Fuimaono and Kaide Ellis who are serving their one-match suspension<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yet, Gallen has chosen them to fight through the self-inflicted limitations on the playing squad and overcome a Sea Eagles side that is always vulnerable without Tom Trbojevic, who has been rested following Wednesday night's Origin match.<\/p>\n

Even without their star fullback, the Sea Eagles have picked one of their strongest sides in weeks, thanks to the return of skipper Daly Cherry-Evans (Origin duty) and young gun Josh Schuster, who has sat out the last month with a calf injury.<\/p>\n

Joining Gallen in tipping the Dragons is Darren Lockyer and Ruan Sims, the sister of Tariq, who has been named to back up despite starting for NSW in the most bruising of the three Origin encounters of the series.<\/p>\n

Sims was filthy at his Dragons teammates when asked about the Vaughan barbecue in the lead-up to Origin and assured the club's fans that they'd fight for the points in every game over the next month, no matter what line-up they fielded<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"As far as just rolling over and copping it from other teams, I think that's bullsh–t," Sims told Nine News.<\/p>\n
