Australian Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo<\/a> says he's already spoken to his new boss at McLaren about a possible drive at Mount Panorama.<\/p>\n

Ricciardo will join McLaren<\/a> for the 2021 season, where he'll link up with Zak Brown, who's not only the CEO of McLaren, but a part-owner of the Walkinshaw Andretti United Supercars team.<\/p>\n

In an appearance on the Australian Grand Prix's In the Fast Lane<\/em> podcast, Ricciardo was asked if he'd like to drive an F1 car around the Bathurst circuit.<\/p>\n

"Yes, if they raised the ride height, absolutely," he replied.<\/p>\n

When it was mentioned that Brown had some links with both F1 and Supercars, Ricciardo revealed that talks have already taken place.<\/p>\n

"I've already had some conversations about Bathurst with him, actually," said Ricciardo.<\/p>\n

"Working on it, working on it."<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Brown floated the idea of Ricciardo and fellow McLaren driver Lando Norris teaming up in a wildcard entry for the Bathurst 1000, indicating that if the F1 and Supercars calendars lined up, he'd back the idea.<\/p>\n

"I think they'd both love to do it," Brown told\u00a0Supercars Sidetracked<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"And I think people now know I'm a little bit different than most of the team bosses in F1, as I like to see our drivers go out and give it a go at Daytona or Le Mans, things of that nature.<\/p>\n

"I think it'll just come down to schedule and whether they can fit it in the schedule. Bathurst, historically, conflicts with Japan \u2013 that's why sometimes I'm there and sometimes I'm not.<\/p>\n

"I'd love to see them do it there."<\/p>\n

Ricciardo has already been behind the wheel of a Supercar, driving Rick Kelly's Nissan prior to last year's Australian Grand Prix<\/a>, indicating at the time that he'd be interested in an appearance at the Bathurst 1000 later in his career.<\/p>\n

"Awesome, it was actually really good," said Ricciardo after driving the car at Calder Raceway in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

"I expected it to be good, it's not like I didn't expect it, but I've never really driven any serious race car with a roof on it, it's always been formula cars, so I didn't really know what to expect either.<\/p>\n

A McLaren Formula One car has been to Bathurst previously, with Jenson Button covering the Mount Panorama circuit in an unofficial lap record 1:48.8 back in 2011.<\/p>\n
